Our Marvellous Mozart weekend celebrates the music and life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with a programme of chamber music delights.
Another glorious programme of wonderful music, including an informal performance of Mozart’s choral masterpiece Ave verum corpus performed by Ensemble 360 and the Bring & Sing choir from the Festival morning workshop. This is a 60 minute recital.
Ensemble 360 programme:
String Quartet No.16 in E flat major K428
Ave verum corpus (choir and string quartet)
Piano Quartet in E Flat Major K493
Mozart’s Piano Quartet in E Flat was completed on 3rd June 1786, just a month after the first performance of The Marriage of Figaro. From the very opening , with a flourish that resembles a mini-orchestra, the work comes across as a bright and genial piece. The piano part has all the panache of a concerto, but the varied mixing of instrumental combinations is always highly inventive.
See below for details of the Bring and Sing if you are interested in being a part of this event.
