Welcome to the Old Laundry Theatre Web Site

We are still busy programming for this years festival which starts at the beginning of October and this year runs throughout December.

We very excited about our programme this year which includes a visit from Edinburgh festival favourite Arthur Smith, best known for his caustic and occasionally bizarre observational comedy. In this show he will talk about his life and times before taking questions from the audience.

Folk legend Martin Simpson who recently won Best Album for Prodigal Son and Best Original Song for Never Any Good at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2008 will also be performing in October. We are also hoping for a visit from Eliza Carthy, one of the figureheads of the English folk revival
Those of you who were lucky enough to see last year’s family show, the hilarious
Potted Potter, will be delighted that double act Dan and Jeff return with a new compressed caper Potted Pirates. In search of talking parrots and mysterious buried treasure, they're swapping wizards for walking the plank and trading Hogwarts for the high seas.

Classical music highlights include Ensemble 360, The Belcea Quartet  and Old Laundry favourite Peter Cropper returns with Moray Welsh and Martin Roscoe performing three  Beethoven Piano Trios in one weekend.

New visitors to the Old Laundry, North Country Theatre will perform The Prisoner of Zenda, a tale of rebellion, romance and mistaken identity. More swash-buckling will commence in December as The Old Laundry family Christmas production of Treasure Island takes to the stage.

Students from the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts will once again perform their graduating year shows in November and will then revisit us in December with two Shakespeare plays.

Film+ this year will include an evening of archive film footage of the Lakes District and traditional Lakeland music, a classic film with Piano accompaniment and in
A night at The Bijou,The Natural Theatre Company recreate a 1950's style cinema complete with decrepit staff, stale popcorn and obligatory 'b' movie, an evening of daft cinematic entertainment

All this and more to come in this years Bowness Theatre Festival and Film +

Box Office opens for bookings on September 3rd!
