Crimes Under the Sun

We are delighted to be hosting award-winning comedy theatre company New Old Friends on Friday 9 & Saturday 10 March 2018 with their touring production of Crimes Under the Sun. The show is a riotous comedy thriller, directed by James Farrell (39 Steps, West End Associate Director), inspired by Agatha Christie’s Evil Under the Sun.  It promises to be a fantastic night at the theatre for fans of thrillers and comedy alike.
The story focuses on former actress turned diver Abigail Peavey, and her alleged infidelity and subsequent murder. The play takes place on a secluded island hotel, and with the guests temporarily
cut off from the mainland will the murderer strike again before Belgian detective Artemis Arinae can solve the case? A cast of four play a wide variety of roles with a wider variety of accents, bringing huge energy and invention to this mystery.

The production draws upon the work of Christie and other classic thrillers, but there is also a Brief Encounter-esque romance, and lashings of comedy in the style of The 39 Steps. The combination of a whodunnit thriller, star-crossed lovers and laugh-out-loud moments make this a perfect evening out for almost any occasion: first date, office night out, anniversaries, birthdays.  So join us on for an evening that will make you laugh, gasp, sigh and laugh again!
