Enjoy a Dickensian 3-course meal before settling down to watch the 1946 classic film Great Expectations. Follow the epic story and rise and fall of the young blacksmith’s apprentice Pip, who suddenly comes into a large fortune from a mysterious benefactor and moves to London where he enters high society.
The first of David Lean‘s two adaptations of Dickens classics. In this film, Lean realises the cinematic potential of the novel which results is one of the finest adaptations.
