As part of the Windermere Science Festival pre-festival talks, we are joined by Dr Mark Norris – director of the Alston Observatory and senior lecturer in Astronomy at the University of Central Lancashire.
Mark will take us on a whistle-stop tour of the astrophysical sites where the chemical elements from which we are made were created. On the journey, we will visit the most extreme locations in the Universe; from the Big Bang to the cores of stars, supernovae and even merging neutron stars.
After the interval, we will look at some of the current and future space missions that are revolutionising our understanding of the Universe and our place in it.
Running time: 2 hours (including an interval)
Please note tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.
A £1.50 booking fee applies to each transaction.
