Esk Valley Theatre Presents The Classic American Comedy By Bill Manhoff
Directed by Mark Stratton
A play about two unlikely neighbours. Doris, a prostitute who aspires to be an actress and Felix who works in a bookshop but aspires to be a novelist. Their worlds collide when Felix takes exception to Doris’s antics.
A heart-warming comedy about unexpected love and the attraction of opposites.
This play was a comedy hit on Broadway in the 1960’s, and was made in to a hugely successful film starring Barbara Streisand and George Segal.
‘The Owl and the Pussycat’ is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, LTD.
“If you want to get a feel for what this revival of a 1960s American Classic is all about, try crossing The Odd Couple with Educating Rita.” The Scarborough News
“Sloyan’s portrayal is something of a tour de force” – Whitby Gazette
“Geaney’s Sherman is on the edge, bordering on weird, the straight man in a double act with Sloyan’s electric, vivacious Doris, under Mark Stratton’s astute direction…” – The Press, York
