The Tannahill Weavers are one of Scotland’s premier traditional bands. Their diverse repertoire spans the centuries with fire-driven instrumentals, topical songs, and original ballads and lullabies.
Over the years the band have been trailblazers for Scottish music, and their tight harmonies and powerful, inventive arrangements have won them fans from beyond the folk and Celtic music scenes.
In 2019 they were nominated for Folk Band of the Year at the Trad Awards, and in 2021 they were joined by Iain MacGillivray, Scotland’s youngest Clan leader, on pipes and fiddle. As they return to the world of touring, the Tannahill Weavers are firmly established as one of the premier groups on the concert stage. From reflective ballads to foot stomping reels and jigs, the variety and range of the material they perform is matched only by their enthusiasm and lively Celtic spirits.
“…the Tannies are the best that Scotland can aspire to (and believe me, that is THE BEST).” The Living Tradition
“The finest purveyors of Scottish music in the kingdom.” Toronto Globe and Mail
“The Weavers filled the night with mesmerizing instrumental virtuosity, tight vocal harmonies and turn-on-a-dime, gear-shifting rhythms.” Andrzej Pilarczyk, Nippertown.
